What types of positions does Providian offer?
As a full-service nationwide staffing company, we offer temporary assignments as well as temp-to-hire and direct placements. We can help you find the right path with your career goals.
If I accept an assignment with Providian who is my actual employer?
Typically any person who goes on an assignment through Providian is an employee of ours. Your paycheck is issued by us or a local branch and by law we are required to take taxes out as determined by the exemptions you claim. In addition, you are covered by our workers compensation insurance!
If I apply for a job with Providian today, when can I begin work?
As soon as your application file has been completed and verified, and you have been interviewed you are ready to go out to work. Depending on the skills you have and the type of work you are looking for will largely determine how soon we can get you on an assignment.
Are all temporary assignments for 40 hours per week?
Assignment lengths typically vary. Because we are working with our clients to fill specific needs we need to remain flexible and provide workers for whatever length they need. Many assignments are 40 hours per week or more but we cannot guarantee that all assignments will be at least 40 hours. What we will do is place you at the assignment that meets your requests.
Can I use Providian as a reference?
Yes, we are happy to provide references for future employment. In fact working for us will diversify your experience, while keeping your work history consistent with one employer to reference.
What happens if the company I am working temporary for wants to hire me?
If you are a temporary employee, and the company wants to hire you, we will arrange for your hire with our client. We will first consult with you to ensure you are interested in the position. If you are, we will communicate the status with you each step of the way until you are hired onto their payroll.
Do temporary employees receive any benefits?
Providian is the first to offer Medical Benefits on FIRST day of assignment. No waiting, no red tape. In addition, some locations offer paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time.
